Founding project / 2026

A digital home for a builder in motion.

Theo builds software, physical products and new businesses. Appesa gathered his growing body of work into one clear website. The site presents his current projects and keeps the story behind them in a single place.

The project / 001

A portfolio that could not sit still.

Theo is an independent builder rather than an artist. Appesa presents this founding project on those terms. His output moves between apps, websites, physical products and businesses. Our task was to make that range clear without flattening it into a conventional résumé.

The challenge

Theo's work did not fit a conventional portfolio. Several products were live at the same time, and each one had its own separate website. His personal story also stretched across Johannesburg, New York and Sydney. The site needed to explain the person and keep his current work easy to find. It also had to stay simple to extend whenever he shipped something new.

The response

We organised the whole site around one clear identity. We named that identity Solo Builder. Under it we built separate layers for his biography and his current projects. Strong navigation and direct outbound links let a visitor reach any project quickly. The visual system keeps the restless, experimental character of Theo's work.

One website now carries Theo's identity and links out to every project he ships.

A system shaped by the way Theo builds.

01

Identity before inventory

The Solo Builder identity gives his many projects one clear centre. The site introduces the person first, before a visitor starts to explore the work.

02

Every project within reach

Every current project has a clear route to its own live website. The portfolio adds context, and it never traps a live product inside a single case study page.

03

Structured for the next launch

New work can join the site at any time. Nothing about the existing structure has to be rebuilt when it does.

Outcome

The site now gives Theo one current point of reference. A visitor can understand who he is and reach any project he is building. The structure grows as he launches new work, so the story never has to be rebuilt from scratch.
